Wheatland Farm Eco Lodges and Cottage is in North Devon (just - actually we're pretty much in the middle of rural Devon, between Dartmoor and Exmoor). We are just outside the Saxon village of Winkleigh, credited in 2011 with being the best place in England to bring up children!
To find us take the A3124 north from Winkleigh and after passing the recreation ground on your right you will come to a sharp left hand corner. You need to turn off, right, at the corner. Take care on the bend! Follow the road round to the right (sign Chulmleigh). After about half a mile there's Fiona's farm shop on your left. Soon, our wind turbine should come into view (though it is cunningly hidden behind a big tree). We are on the right a further half mile after the farm shop. Drive down the track (not through the white gates). Drive past our neighbour's bungalow and a car park for the lodges. Carry on (ignoring the sign for Otter Cottage - unless that's where you're staying) until you get to a dead end and a turning area. Ours is the white farm house. Just down the steps is our front door, where you can pick up the keys. If you're likely to find the steps tricky please ring us and we'll make arrangements to meet you.
We will collect guests who arrive without cars from either Eggesford Station, on the Tarka Line between Barnstaple and Exeter, or the Winkleigh bus stop for the 315 Exeter - Barnstaple Stagecoach service.
